In this day and age, with all the daily uncertainty, it's important to make sure you always have a plan B. As the old saying goes don't put all your eggs in one basket. This could not be more true, for your income. Statistics show 7 figure earners have a t least 7 streams of income. I personally, as a single mom, have always made sure on top of a main daily job, to have at least a second source of income. As I have been growing my own brand, I have added a couple more income streams to my plate.
Why is having other streams of income necessary? Well I think if anything the last couple of years have taught us, is that you just never know when the world is going to change. Whether it's due to downsizing, injury or illness and many other things out of our control (a pandemic ah hem), you just never know when you might lose your job or be unable to work outside of the home. Having multiple income streams is your safety net and just good planning.
So you may have heard of affiliate marketing, but what is it really? The simple answer is it's when companies pay third party people (you & me), to mention, promote and drive new customers to their products or services. Many companies offer this type of affiliate collaboration, probably more then you realize you just have to ask. But it offers you a great way to make some extra cash, just by talking about the products and services you already know and love anyway.
It's something we do everyday anyway. Think of it like this, when you get a great haircut you rave about the hairdresser to your friends. If your friends then went and got their hair cut there as well, the hairdresser would pay you a small cut for sending them the new business. That's affiliate marketing in the works and we do it all the time from raving about our hairdresser, to gushing about the fantastic restaurant we ate at, or closer to my heart that absolutely amazing cup of coffee.
